What to Wear for you Photoshoot

When booking a shoot, the most common question is: What do you think I should wear? People want to look their best and, though there are no set of rules, this is a good place to get started on ideas for your session.

Less is More:

Tip 1:

When picking what to wear, try to chose clothes in solid colors. Avoid complicated patterns if possible (clothes with really small flowers or other complicated drawings, plaids are alright) or focus on only one piece of clothing being patterned. This will help keep the focus on you.

Tip 2:

Always wear something you feel comfortable in! If you don't love the way your clothes fit, that might show on the picture.

Tip 3:

Accessories matter too! If you want to use them, keep them simple. Classic pieces are best : a beautiful necklace, a scarf, some bracelets, etc.

Tip 4:

When doing a group shoot, try to keep everyone in the same color scheme. Everyone will look better in their portraits if the colors they are wearing go nicely together. Longer sleeves are always flattering as well.

Note: This does not mean you all have to wear exactly the same color, just make sure people are not wearing colors or patterns that clash with each other (like bright green and red for example.)

Tip 5: Layer!

Pictures will look more interesting when you layer your clothes, it adds more depth to your shot.

Tip 6: Have fun with it!

Despite everything I have said so far, the most important thing is that you love the way you look, no matter what it is you are wearing.
